The block on the left is our older block typically found on Freezones and Eliminators, while the one on the right is our current block found on the PURE, Freezone Elite, Boreas, and Domino. Our i7 retainer is manufactured for our current block. Your Freezone most likely has the older block on it, in which case, you'll have to by the new parts from us and make a DIY weekend out of it.

sorry to take so long in replying. i've been screwing around with win7 x64 beta.
i checked on the web site and could not find any reference to buy the new block, also would
i need anything else for my weekend DYI.

Hey flabeachbum,

The water block is only available through us directly and cannot be purchased on our web site. I can email you instruction on how to change the water block and fill your unit through the pump. Also, in order to run a Freezone on an i7 CPU you will have to run the fan at 100% or, a better choice would be to, change the fan to a 120mm fan.

Question about the water blocks pictured above....

between the two design..... are they the same or different when it comes to cooling performance... in my case using the original Freezone

Never use stock water blocks... I've tested this system with a few higher end blocks and they all perform 5-8C better (under a full load) than the one shipped with the unit... Note: Only attempt this if you're familiarly with water cooled systems - not recommended for beginners... (Will void the warranty)
