CPU Fan Warning 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello All,

I just installed the Eliminator on my AMD Thuban mated to an Asus Crosshair IV. My Dad originally purchased the cooler for his machine but unfortunately had a stroke and thus shelved the unitl. I needed to build a box and thought I would delve into the world of squeezing as much power out of my machine as possible.

My question is probably pretty green-horned, but I am getting a CPU fan warning when I boot up. Clearly there is nothing plugged into the CPU fan header and there is no output from the Eliminator to connect to it.

I guess the name of the game is to turn off the warning in the bios?

By the way, Dad's still into computers; only he's switched to a Mac and loves it! Was it the stroke? Not sure...

Thanks
-Lee

Hey Bumper.

Yup your right. You must turn it off in bios.

And yes, no doubt it was the stroke. Glad to hear hes fine aside from that major problem.

Hey youeffsee,

Thanks for the confirmation. The thought of cooking my new baby scares me to say the least.

Yeah, Pop's a tough old guy, even if his judgment it a bit off.

Thanks again!

Bumper,

An Eliminator is one of our older CPU chillers. The unit can dissipate about 100 watts of heat, so depending on what CPU you install your Eliminator on it may not work well for you. Yes just shut off your CPU fan error, or plug something into the CPU fan header.

I am glad your dad is doing well, I am sorry about the Mac though.
