every review site i turned to got amazing temperatures with the eliminator.. i just got mine today and i get 22c idle and 50c load.. i'm using a 45nm chip at stock voltage (1.3v). do i have a couple broken TECs? I was expecting much lower temperatures..

with values like these i should have stuck with my heatsink at a fraction of the cost

Which CPU are you using it on?

i have an infrared temperature gauge that is telling me the waterblocks on my tecs are around 7-10c. so it appears that the cooling itself is working fine. I honestly do not understand why my cpu would be that warm while the waterblocks are that cold. i used ceramique, then cleaned and reseated with arctic silver 5.. used arctic silver's exact directions for both products but i get the same results with either. is it possible there is something wrong with the cpu block?

Arctic Silver 5 is a good TIM. I personally love to use OCZ Freeze. It's non-conductive, really easy to apply / remove and works better than anything else out there.

When I still used AS5, it took quite some practice to get really good results from it. Applying it the way Arctic Silver recommends did not yeild the best results for me. I resorted to applying it using the edge of a razor blade to get a very thin, uniform application.

With OCZ Freeze, I put a drop of it in the middle of the CPU just slightly larger than a BB and then tighten down the water block as evenly as possible. When I remove my water block (or other heatsink) I have a uniform, complete coverage of the CPU.

If you like, I can take some pictures of an application of Freeze to illustrate it for you.

well i did some clooser looking and saw that each TEC was progressively warmer.. from this i determined which TEC block was the first to get the cpu coolant. the cpu block itself i measured under load and realized it was only a few degrees cooler than the cpu temps i was reading in windows. I guess then my cooler is working just as it was designed? So while my eliminator cools my cpu just fine in the range of 4.0-4.2 ghz. it cannot get my cpu any higher because the temperatures required to get my chip that fast cannot be achieved with the Eliminator. Which is a shame because my last Heatsink/fan also easily got the cpu clocked to 4.2ghz albeit at higher vcore. To summarize: this cooler will not allow me to overclock my cpu any higher than my last unit which was just aircooled heatsink. I am sad . So what about the people saying they are getting sub-10c temperatures on 65nm processors? are they flat-out lying? or is the eliminator truly able to get a 45nm chip very cold and i just have a defective unit?
