Hey guys,

Just starting this thread to ask how much noise everyones cooler is making. On mine the fan isn't very loud at all as I've got 3 other fans in the case but the pump keeps making a grinding type of noise not harsh grinding but its audible from about 5ft away where I sit.
Is anyone else's cooler doing the same from that far away?

I've read and think I might need an RMA but I've sent an email to: jon.stanley@coolitsystems.com but no one has replied from that account yet either?.....

Hey Gary

Before RMA'n the pump I would suggest opening up the fill port & checking the coolant level
(located on the pump - you need an allen key to open it)

90% of the time low coolant level is the cause of the noise. If the coolant is any lower than right to the top of the threads you need a top up. You will be fine using just distilled water for minor topups but I would suggest using coolant for anything major.

EDIT: That is the correct email. Jon does not work weekends, he should answer soon.

I would do that but my unit is brand new, 2 days old and still under warranty, I've read that opening it to add coolant voids the warranty and don't want to do it if thats the case?

It would be best to wait and speak to Jon in that case. Chances are this is your problem and it could save time and money with RMA. If you are comfortable doing the topup I would ask him about the warranty issue.

GagguP,

youeffsee is correct, on older units the top up does work most of the time but some times the pump is just loud from the start. If I have not emailed you back yet I will shortly.

Opening the fill port on the pump for modifying purposes does void warranty.
