PURE ST temps 2 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Dear Coolit,
we sucesfully mounted the PURE ST System. The temps whe have on the
processors are:

CPU1 58 °C (136 °F)
CPU2 68 °C (154 °F)

we have a INTEL SKULLTRAIL D5400XS with 2 x XEON X5460 3.16GHZ

Can this temperatures be lower in some way?

An other question, maybe we can control the behaviour of the pure st using
the MTEC control center, is this compatible with the pure st?

If you need more informations on our configurations i can send you a
detailed report.

I'm not a CoolIt rep. I'll get that on the table first.
Second, MTEC is design to regulate and control units with TEC/peltiers in its design (Freezone gen1/Elite, Boreas, Eliminator). The PURE ST follows the same convenstion that Koolance/Danger Den/Swiftech use in entry level cooling; passing water/liquid over the major heat items in a system, and using ambient air through a radiator/exchanger to cool the liquid. No sub-ambient cooling.

Buying an MTEC control unit will not improve cooling. MTEC is only a REAL-TIME means of controlling Cool It Systems many chiller units from the desktop in WIndows; Nothing more, Nothing less.

IMO the PURE cooler, is a lower cost option that marketing probably wanted to compete with a couple other manfactures for pre-built drop in water cooling.

Ok,
the pure st is a commercial entry level system. You think it's better i use a customized system? I've 2 XEON processors.. when under stress(prime95) the reach a temp of 75C.

the PURE cooler is more-or-less designed to cool a single dual core cpu at stock values. If trying to fit a Boreas ST into your case is going to be too much to work, see what it would cost to have Freezone Elite custom built for skulltrail. I have been quite impressed with the performance of the Freezone Elite w/MTEC. I have one custom built to cool dual ATi HD 3870X2 cards (4 GPUs). It would be nothing short of talking to a rep at Cool It to see if it is a viable thermal solution for dual Xeon processors. What computer case are you using?
